Bandipur Tiger Elephant Safari
Bandipur safari is always well rewarding in terms of wildlife sighting. Bandipur National Park is one of the beautiful wildlife sanctuary located in south India with variety of flora and fauna. Bandipur safari offers maximum tiger sightings when compared to other wildlife sanctuaries in south India. Bandipur National park is also rich in other fauna including leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, herbivores like elephants, gaurs, barking deer, and rare birds like vultures. Both Van safari and jeep safari are available at Bandipur. No advance or online safari booking is available at Bandipur. Tickets can be had on que system / first come first serve basis.
Mudumalai Van Safari and Jeep Safari
Jungle safari is a major attraction at Mudumalai National Park. Mudumalai safari office is located at Thepakadu junction about 10 km from Deep jungle Home campus. The road that leads to the safari office runs through the jungle making the 10 km drive like a safari by itself. There is no advance safari booking option available at Mudumlai. They choose to operate on first come first serve basis. It is always advisable to reach the Mudumalai safari office at least 30 Mins before the safari start time to avoid any last moment disappointment.
Elephant Feeding Camp
Located close to the Mudumalai safari junction, the elephant feeding camp will be enjoyed by both adults and children it costs just Rs. 50 entrance fee to visit the elephant camp at Mudumalai.
Camp fire
- Campfire for a group costs – Rs. 1000
- Time – after 7 PM
Nature Walk
Nature trial includes slow walking in and around the campus, along the stream to observe the wide range of wildlife that exists in the surroundings. The main aim is to teach kids about the beauty of nature, their importance and the reasons to conserve or protect nature and wildlife.
Checklist during nature trial includes listen to various bird calls, learning to identify them, observe bird behaviour , various plant identification, butterfly classification, spying on insects, count / identify the fishes spotted on the stream, list the number of water plants, observe the orchid plant that grows on a tree, touch the touch me not, etc.
Nocturnal Nature Watch
Activities are subject to availability due to seasonal / situational circumstances
Fun: Observe nocturnal creatures walking along the campus border.
Learning: Lookout for Owls, Bats, Crabs, Night jar, flying squirrels, etc.
Safety: Complete activity under the supervision our guide.
